At Binnie Trading (“we”, “us”, “our”), we operate exclusively as a business-to-business (B2B) trade platform, wholesale distributor, and commercial intermediary across the United Kingdom and Europe. This Return & Refund Policy sets out the commercial standards, inspection procedures, Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) workflows, and resolution terms governing wholesale procurement and palletized freight transactions.
1. B2B Commercial Scope & Applicability
All commercial transactions, trade invoices, and procurement agreements facilitated by Binnie Trading are strictly business-to-business (B2B) contracts governed by the commercial laws of England and Wales. Statutory consumer cancellation rights, including the 14-day statutory cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, do not apply to commercial wholesale transactions.
2. Inbound Delivery Inspection & Discrepancies
Wholesale buyers and receiving facilities must conduct a visual and physical inspection upon delivery of cargo:
- Transit Damage & Outer Carton Integrity: Any visible external damage to pallets, carton seals, shrink-wrapping, or shipping containers must be clearly noted on the carrier Proof of Delivery (POD) / consignment note prior to signing.
- Shortages or Physical Mismatches: Discrepancies in pallet counts or carton quantities against the bill of lading must be reported in writing to our Trade Desk within 48 hours of physical receipt.
- Latent Product Defects: Concealed damage or product non-conformity discovered during internal intake must be reported in writing within 7 business days of delivery, accompanied by batch numbers, clear photographic evidence, and invoice references.
3. Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) Protocol
To ensure chain-of-custody security and bonded warehouse tracking, returns are processed strictly through our formal RMA procedure:
- Prior Authorization Required: No returns will be accepted at our fulfillment centers or partner warehouses without an authorized, written RMA Number issued by Binnie Trading.
- Unauthorized Deliveries: Shipments delivered without a valid RMA or to incorrect warehouse facilities will be rejected at the buyer’s expense.
- Packaging & Condition: Approved return items must be in original manufacturer master cartons, unopened, untampered, and re-palletized according to standard freight security specifications.
4. Verified Defects, Resolutions & Credit Notes
Upon receipt and technical inspection of authorized returned goods at our designated inspection depot:
- Replacements & Stock Allocations: For verified manufacturer defects or logistics non-conformities, Binnie Trading will arrange prompt priority replacement stock on the next scheduled freight route.
- Commercial Credit Notes: If replacement stock is unavailable, a commercial credit note will be issued against your trade account for application toward subsequent procurement cycles.
- Refunds: Where agreed in writing by commercial management, refunds will be issued directly via commercial BACS / CHAPS / SEPA bank transfer to the originating business bank account within 5 to 10 business days of inspection clearance.
5. Non-Returnable & Final Sale Categories
Due to regulatory, logistical, and manufacturer compliance requirements, the following categories are strictly non-returnable unless defective on arrival:
- Custom-manufactured, bespoke, or private-label production runs.
- Time-sensitive, short-dated, or temperature-controlled inventory batches.
- Clearance lots, liquidated pallet specials, or end-of-line stock sold under explicit final sale terms.
- Commercial overstock or change of mind by the buyer.
6. Restocking & Handling Fees
In exceptional cases where Binnie Trading management grants a written commercial concession for a non-defective return, a standard 15% to 25% restocking and administrative fee applies to cover warehouse intake, quality re-inspection, and inventory reallocation. Inbound and outbound freight charges remain the responsibility of the buyer.
